Last year's overall champions Manipur stole the thunder collecting a rich haul of gold medals from their favorite events as seven meet records tumbled on the third day of competitions in the 31st National Games hereto-day.
The strong Manipur contingent had a good day bagging three gold medals in fencing and picking up four more from the cycling arena on a day which saw three new meet records being established in the showpiece athletic event.
Manipur has so far won 15 golds, six silvers and four bronzes.
The exact tally of other States is not available till late tonight.
Two records were re-written in cycling where Manipur maintained their supremacy.
Manipur's Rameshwori Devi set a new games record in the women's 3000 m individual pursuit event finishing the race with an impressive timing of 4.26.188 while N Chaoba of Manipur bagged the silver in the same event.
Manipur today won four gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
So far the State has managed to secure seven gold, three silver and two bronze medals in cycling.
In men's 1000 m sprint Manipur cyclist K Indrakumar won the gold while G Gitanjali won the silver in women's 1000 m sprint.
In women's 3000m team pursuit Manipur's Ch Rameshwari, G Gitanjali, N Chaoba and I Goutamani won the gold while in men's 3000 m team pursuit Manipur's Ch Premjit, K Indrakumar, Th Amson and N Budha secured the silver.
Manipur, traditionally strong in the fencing event, never really faced much of a challenge from rivals as their fencers romped home with all the four gold medals in their kitty.
According to Fencing Association sources in Imphal, H Manglemba of Manipur won a gold medal in sabre individual today.
Men's sabre and women's foil team also won one gold medal each.
The men's team comprises H Manglemba, A Dilipkumar, Th Holen and A Deepak while the women's team are E Geeta, M Usharani, N Harina and M James.
With four more golds in their kitty, the North Eastern State has increased its gold tally to seven out of the nine medals decided in fencing so far.

Wrestling: Manipur's M Ramani today sailed into the final in women's 46 kg wrestling beating Ranjana of Rajasthan 4-0 at Jalandhar's indoor stadium.
She will meet Somen of Delhi tomorrow in the final bout.
In women's 56 kg category Manipur's RK Ningthila outclassed Bina of Kerala 3-1.She will fight for the third position.
In 68 kg category Manipur's H Ranjana was defeated by Sumand of Punjab.
Ranjana will fight for the third spot tomorrow.
